?An international scientific-practical seminar entitled Manuscript Conservation and Preservation Training in Libraries of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was organized from May 12–15, 2026, within the framework of the ALIPH 2025–4160 Central Asia Grant in cooperation with the al-Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies & STERNA Heritage.
?This project is aimed at preserving the manuscript heritage kept in libraries and research centers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, studying modern methods of conservation and restoration, and improving the professional skills of specialists in the field.
?On the first day of the seminar, participants attended theoretical and practical sessions devoted to the fundamental principles of manuscript conservation and preservation.
?Unlike traditional lecture-based classes, the seminar serves as an important platform for integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills and for promoting international exchange of professional experience among specialists in the field.
