On April 3, 2025, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman Khalid al-Mawali visited the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The director of the Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Bakhrom Abdukhalimov acquainted the guests with the directions of scientific activity of the Institute and the exposition of the museum. Then a meeting of the Institute staff with the members of the delegation took place. During this event, the director of the Institute, Professor Bakhrom Abdukhalimov, and the Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, Khalid al-Mawali, made speeches. The distinguished guest devoted his speech to the history of relations between both countries and the historical role of Uzbekistan in the development of Islamic civilization. At the end of this meeting, the guests were presented with valuable editions of books about the manuscript heritage of the Institute.

After this, the delegation members were escorted to the manuscript collection, the restoration laboratory and the scanning room, where they had the opportunity to personally assess the activities of these important departments. In conclusion, the guests expressed their sincere gratitude for such a warm welcome and emphasized that the activities and scientific publications of the Institute had made an exceptionally favorable impression on them.
